3) Obtain Export Import Code Number (IEC Number) from the office of Director General of Foreign Trade (DGFT). DGFT has its offices located in all major cities across India.
4) Obtain Registration Cum Membership Certificate (RCMC) RCMC has to be obtained from Export Promotion Councils in India (like, CAPEXIL – Chemicals & Allied Product Export Promotion Council for Chemical Product Exporters).
RCMC specially required for those who are falling under the following category:
An authorization is required for import/export restricted items or
Any person applying for any benefit or concession under Foreign Trade Policy (FTP) like duty drawback, duty credit scripts etc. The RCMC is mandatory for applying and claiming export benefits which Government of India from time to time allows to Export Houses in terms of Duty Drawback, Duty Credit Licenses (Advance Licenses) for duty free Imports.
Certificate of Registration as an Exporter of Spices (CRES) issued by Spices Board shall be treated as RCMC and no other RCMC is to be applied with any other Export Promotion Council (EPC).
